Dream Farm Commons is seeking proposals for You Meaning Me, a month long series of site-based performative works to take place in Downtown Oakland, California in May 2020.
Through a series of performative works, You Meaning Me will address the social conditions and historical context of living in contemporary urban environments. Selected proposals will be site-specific to the 15th Street location of our gallery space, sidewalks, parks, and other areas of Downtown Oakland. The duration of the proposed performance should be between 30 minutes to 8 hours in length. Applicants should be driven by the belief in the radical possibilities of site-based, public performative works and the reimagining of our shared spaces.

Dream Farm Commons, the host and organizer of this event, located at 345 15th Street (between Webster and Franklin), is a site for radical imagination, for engagement with the visual, the poetic, the neighborhood and the future. 15th Street has become a unique site for creative resistance against the rapid gentrification of Downtown Oakland.
Applicants are invited to visit the gallery during open hours, and strongly encouraged to attend upcoming information sessions.
