The Whole Earth is Our Hospital —
this is the waiting room
OPENING SUNDAY MARCH 8 ,12 -2PM
a lecture performance involving flat whites
Cassie Thornton of The Feminist Economics Department (The FED), with friends, has created a participatory installation about waiting, care, and collective behavioral change during a time of planetary instability and transformation.

The WorkShop of Care and Repair,
Ann Schnake, artist and nurse, offers an installation in the DFC annex space, three doors down from the Waiting Room.
In the Dream Farm gallery, visitors make an appointment to enter the waiting room within our planetary hospital — a place to sit between crisis and transformation, between conditioned behavior and new forms of collective survival. If you feel something weird in the air, don't worry-- it's the tension between danger and transformation. Please join us at a planetary waiting room where you can enjoy a temporary lack of control as you wait. For what?
If you can survive the wait, you will be referred to a follow-up service which might include practicing The Hologram, a peer-to-peer distributed support process; carrying someone else’s baggage around the block; or visiting the Workshop of Care and Repair for one on one attention, which might look like a foot soak, hand massage, making a new body part or an intention.
The Whole Earth is Our Hospital — this is the waiting room and the Workshop of Care and Repair runs from March 8 through April 4, 2026, opening on March 8 at 12 PM, with a ritual to close the Flat White Dimension that involves drinking the last official Flat Whites. All welcome!
Appointments will be available to experience the full two-hour performative, transformational and full event, Fridays and Saturdays 1-3PM, as a smaller group affair. Read more about the project, schedule an appointment OR propose awaiting activity at the the waiting room website.
